ODM/Design & Durability Customization
-
What design modifications does Pretech offer to ensure this 5.5-inch tablet withstands the demanding, often messy, environment of a restaurant?
Durability and practical design are primary focuses for E-Menu devices. We customize the tablet’s construction to be drop-resistant and easy to clean, essential for high-volume use in hospitality. This includes modifications to the bezel and casing materials to resist spills and frequent handling, ensuring a long product lifespan and minimizing replacement costs.
-
Can the screen technology be customized for optimal viewing and touch responsiveness in a fast-paced ordering environment?
Yes. We customize the display specifications to meet client needs. The standard 5.5-inch IPS screen (G+F+F) offers excellent visual clarity for menus. We can adjust brightness levels and enhance the touch panel's sensitivity and material structure to ensure rapid, accurate order entry and an optimal user experience, even with light residue on the screen.
Charging & Operational Efficiency
-
How does the Pogo Pin charging system optimize the operational flow and longevity of the tablets in a restaurant setting?
Pogo Pin charging is crucial for efficiency and durability in POS environments. It provides reliable, quick-contact charging when the tablet is placed on its charging rack or stand. This minimizes the wear and tear associated with constant plugging/unplugging of USB cables and ensures devices are always charged and ready to use, streamlining table service and shift changes.
-
Can Pretech customize the charging solution to accommodate a large number of tablets efficiently, such as a multi-bay charging case?
Absolutely. As part of our ODM service, we design custom multi-bay charging racks or cases tailored to the specific quantity required by the restaurant or retail chain. These customized docking solutions integrate the Pogo Pin connection, centralizing tablet storage and charging, which simplifies logistics and inventory management for the client.
Application & Software Integration
-
What firmware customizations are available to ensure the tablet is locked down to function purely as an ordering and payment device?
We provide deep software customization to ensure maximum operational focus. This includes implementing Kiosk Mode to restrict the tablet entirely to the proprietary e-menu/POS application, preventing staff or customers from accessing unauthorized system settings or non-business applications. We also customize the boot-up process and system settings to speed up deployment.
-
Can the NFC functionality be customized to support both tap-to-pay and staff authentication features?
Yes. The integrated NFC module is versatile. While it is commonly used to facilitate seamless, tap-to-pay transactions by customers, we can also customize the firmware to use NFC for secure staff authentication (e.g., logging in or accessing manager features), adding an extra layer of security to the ordering and payment process.
